R&B singer, Brandy, opens up on her battle with depression

RnB legend, Brandy Norwood, has opened up on her long struggle with depression.

The singer, who recently released her 7th studio album, had an interview with People magazine, where she spoke about the struggle and how she overcame it.

According to her, it all began in 2006, when she was involved in a ghastly auto crash, that cost someone their life.

She said the experience was traumatic, and it stayed with her for a very long time.

She also revealed a series of heartbreaks didn't help the condition, as she lived so many years of her life wishing to die.

But then, the thought of living for her daughter, Sy'rai, kept her going, as she always reminded herself of the need to keep living for her.

She told People,

“I remember laying in bed super depressed. I (told) myself, ‘So, you’re just going to go out like this? That’s wack. You have a daughter. If you can’t do it yourself, do it for her because this is not the way to leave a mark in her life.

“If Sy’rai wasn’t here, I wouldn’t be either. The place that I was in, it just felt like I wasn’t going to make it through.”

Well, we're glad Brandy is feeling much better now, and we hope her story can inspire many more to also speak up about their difficulties.
