Man gets 30 months in jail for stalking Taylor Swift

An obsessed Taylor Swift fan has been sent to jail for 30 months, after stalking the singer for more than two years.

According to reports, the Texas-based  man, whose name is given as Eric Swarbrick, sent more than 40 letters to Taylor's former record label in 2018 alone.

In some of the letters, he demanded to be introduced to the singer, and when this didn't happen, he sent more, threatening to kill himself and rape her.

A report from Law and Crime read,

“Too often, we have seen the consequences of ignoring signs of escalating violent behavior by some individuals,” U.S. Attorney Don Cochran for the Middle District of Tennessee said in a press release about the case. “The attention given to this matter by our law enforcement partners and the resulting federal charges we have brought should serve to prevent a future tragic event.”

Only a few months ago, Swarbrick pleaded guilty to “interstate stalking and sending interstate communications with the intent to threaten," so the man appears to have had this coming his way.
