"Old man...face your country!"— Wizkid blasts Buhari on Twitter

Superstar Nigerian singer, Wizkid, has hit out at the country's president, Muhammadu Buhari, over the incessant killings of young innocent people in the country by men of the Special Anti- Robbery Squad (SARS), and arm of the Nigerian police.

The singer, in a quote on the president's tweet to US president, Donald Trump, wishing him a quick recovery from coronavirus, blasted him for misplacing priorities and evading the ongoing issues in the country.

Wizkid's tweet read, "Trump is not your business! old man! Police/Sarz still killing Nigerian Youth on a daily! Do something! Nothing concern u for America! Face your country!"

The tweets have gathered massive love and retweets from many young Nigerians on the social media platform, most of who have clamoured for the SARS program to be scrapped.

For the past two weeks or so, the hashtag, #EndSARS, has trended on Twitter, and has been used by young Nigerians to call the government's attention to the constantly growing cases of brutality and abuse by men of the police in the program against innocent young Nigerians.

The Nigerian higher had over a year ago, promised to reform the SARS program, but it appears the problems were never handled, as more and more people have been victimised by men under it.

The SARS program was originally set up to tackle special cases of armed robbery in Nigeria, but over time, it lost its focus, and was turned into an avenue to steal, maim and kill those who refuse to yield to their demands.
