"SARS can never be my friend"— Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike

Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike, has assured his statemen and women they have his full backing in their quest to see reforms in the Nigerian police force.

The governor met up with a crowd of protesters on Tuesday, October 13, as they marched to his office to press home their demands.

According to Wike, he isn't friends with men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), as he has always been an advocate for change and responsible policing.

Wike's comments came after he initially announced via his Twitter that a ban had been placed on protests, but youth in Port Harcourt, Rivers state defied the order, to march for change.
